Kathryn Desplanque: Satirical Art & the Digital Humanities
Full description
Kathryn Desplanque works with a massive collection of almost 500 images from late-18th and early-19th century France: satirical images aimed at depicting the art world of Paris around the time of the French Revolution. But how does academia tend to treat these images? Desplanque argues that this satirical art should be afforded the same level of analysis and interpretation as other forms of traditionally cultured art.
